Job Overview:

Our clinic’s pediatricians provide free and low-cost healthcare to children of qualifying families. We treat children of all ages and see patients with many different ailments, so pediatricians should have experience with a range of injuries and illnesses. Of course, pediatricians must treat all of our patients with the highest level of care and respect regardless of their socioeconomic status.

Responsibilities:

  • Treating children ages 0 to 18 years old
  • Diagnosing and treating children’s illnesses and injuries
  • Requesting and interpreting lab tests to diagnose abnormalities and infections
  • Prescribing medications and other treatments as appropriate
  • Giving parents instructions on proper administration of any prescribed medications
  • Preparing and administering vaccines
  • Referring patients to social workers, medical specialists, and others when necessary
  • Advising parents on children’s hygiene, exercise, and diet
  • Maintaining accurate and updated records for each child seen
  • Adhering to HIPAA regulations at all times

Necessary Skills & Qualifications:

  • Doctorate degree in medicine
  • Current state medical license
  • Board-eligible or board-certified with the ABP
  • 1+ years of experience as a pediatrician
  • Commitment to providing all patients with compassionate care
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Good organizational skills
  • Respect for patient confidentiality

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience as a pediatrician
  • Experience treating children from low-income families
  • Fellowship in a pediatric specialty
  • Evening and/or Saturday availability
  • Bilingual in English and another language
