Bikers Against Drunk Drivers
Since 1985, Bikers Against Drunk Drivers has spread the word about the dangers of drunk driving and helped the families of those affected by drunk driving. Each year, it hosts events to raise awareness about the prominence of drunk driving in order to reduce the nation’s high fatality rate stemming from those who drive under the influence. This nonprofit also raises money to pay for funeral services for the families of those killed by drunk drivers so they can mourn in peace without having to worry about their finances.
Charity Cars
A car can not only provide people with transportation so they can work, but also allow them to move or attend classes to better their future. Unfortunately, most cars are quite expensive — especially after the pandemic. Founded in 1996, Charity Cars provides free vehicles to families that are struggling financially to help them move toward self-sufficiency. It pays for all the necessary repairs and tests on donated cars before giving them to their new owners.
Women of Tomorrow
This mentorship and advocacy group exists to help at-risk young women in Florida reach their potential. It connects teenage girls who have juvenile records, dangerous living situations, and/or financial troubles with successful women. These mentors provide emotional support and professional assistance to the girls to help them see what’s possible. Women of Tomorrow also offers scholarships and financial assistance to help these young women go to college along with other programs that can help open doors for them.
