Rhode Island Tutorial & Educational Services (RITES)

RITES offers one-to-one, multisensory tutoring to small classes of children who need additional assistance in their instruction. It provides assistance to children with dyslexia, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), dysgraphia, dyscalculia, or a non-verbal learning disorder (NLD) as well as to their families. RITES also offers specialized assistance for skill-building courses like SAT/ACT prep courses and practice tests. Because every child deserves to get the most out of their education, RITES works to ensure kids who need specialized instruction get the tools and assistance they require to thrive.
National LGBT Cancer Network
By advocating on behalf of LGBTQIA+ cancer survivors and patients, this nonprofit aims to improve their lives. Its goals include educating the LGBT community on the importance of cancer screenings, training healthcare providers on how to be culturally aware and welcoming to LGBT patients, and advocating for survivors through research and representation. Because it’s entirely funded by donations and grants, the National LGBT Cancer Network can operate based on what’s best for the community it serves and provide the most support possible to LGBTQIA+ victims of cancer.
JDP Theatre Co.
While young people with disabilities may think they can’t participate in certain activities, the JDP Theatre Co. wants to ensure drama and acting aren’t among them. With the goal of making community theater as accessible as possible, this nonprofit adapts plays and musicals so all of its cast and crew members can experience the wonders of the stage. Regardless of someone’s acting experience or ability level, the JDP Theatre Co. welcomes them to come and partake in the creative and performing arts.
