What Is a Decennial Report?

In Pennsylvania, a decennial report is a regular filing that your LLC must complete every ten years. The report is essentially updating your registered agent address and paying a $70 fee. All LLCs are required to file their decennial report with the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue.

The purpose of this report is to keep your business records up to date with the state of Pennsylvania. This allows creditors and other interested parties to look up your business address in case they need to contact you. The government uses this information to track the payment of your LLC's state taxes.

How Do I File?

Pennsylvania requires the decennial report to be filed by mail. You can download the form alongside a set of frequently asked questions through the Pennsylvania Secretary of State.

Fee: Nonrefundable $70

Instructions: You will need your LLC State ID number. If you do not know your i.d. number, you can use the business entity search to find it.

Filing deadlines: Pennsylvania's Decennial Report is due every ten years in years ending in 1. For example, 2021, 2031, etc.

Penalties for late filings: Pennsylvania does not charge a fee for late filings. However, failure to file your decennial report will result in the company losing its name on January 1st of the year following the report. At that time, your business name becomes available to any other corporation, limited partnership or limited liability company.
