Job Overview:

Our bill and account collectors are in charge of tracking down clients who are unable to keep up with their financial obligations. We need our bill collectors to be assertive when it comes to handling customers without becoming too aggressive. They’ll need customer service skills, but they should also be aware of customers who would scam our company. We rely on collectors to think outside the box when it comes to how best to handle each individual client. They should present available financial options to clients and be prepared to impose consequences (ex: repossession) if clients fail to respond in a timely manner.

Responsibilities:

  • Contacting clients via phone, email, mail, or personal visit
  • Assessing accounts and informing customers of financial options
  • Receiving, recording, and posting payments to correct customer accounts
  • Documenting attempts to reach customers to provide evidence in case of legal action
  • Working with customers who may need additional help to pay their bills
  • Arranging debt repayment schedules and coordinating payment options
  • Finding customers who may have moved or otherwise changed contact information
  • Notifying credit agencies of delinquency or settlement
