What Is Google Analytics?
Google Analytics is a free service that provides statistics and basic website tracking to the website owner. With Google Analytics, you can track how much traffic your site receives and from where, as well as how visitors interact with your site. You also can learn about specific visitor usage trends, such as if visitors click on ads or download files.
With this information, a small business or website owner can improve their site’s search engine optimization (SEO) and marketing strategy.

Skip Ahead:
Step 1: Create a Google Analytics Account
The first step in connecting Google Analytics to your Zyro website involves creating an account.
- Visit the Google Analytics website.
- Sign in with your Gmail email address. If you don’t have a Gmail address, create one. Then, click on the “Start Measuring” button.
- In the “Account Name” field, type in the name of your account. This could be your website or business name.
- Scroll down and select the data you want to share with Google, and then click on the “Next” button.
- On the next page, you’ll see a prompt to input your “Property Name.” Your property name is the name of your website. Input your website’s name, select your time zone and local currency, and then click on the “Next” button to reach the “Business information” page.
- Select your business’s Industry category from the drop-down menu, and then click on the radio buttons next to the size of your business and how you intend to use Google Analytics with your business. Next, click on the “Create” button.
- You’ll now reach a prompt to read and agree to the Google Analytics Terms of Service.
- Once you agree to those terms, you’ll then need to select what email communications you’d like to receive from Google Analytics. Choose the options you want, and then click on the “Save” button.
- You’ll then reach a screen with the header, “Next Step: Set up a data stream to start collecting data.” Click on the “Web” button on the left side of that screen.
- In the “Website URL” field, enter your website address (after the “https://”). In the “Stream name” field, enter the name of your website. Leave the “Enhanced measurement” option selected, and then click on the “Create stream” button.
- You’ll then reach the “Web stream details” page. Click on the “Copy” icon next to the “Measurement ID” number to copy the code.
Step 2: Connect Your Google Analytics Account to Your Zyro Account
Now it’s time to connect your Google Analytics and Zyro accounts.
- Navigate to the Zyro homepage, sign in, and then click on your website editor.
- In the bottom-left corner of the screen, click on the “Cog” icon to open your settings. Then, select “Integrations” from the available options.
- Paste the number you copied from Google Analytics into the “Google Analytics ID” field.
- Save your changes to update your site.
Step 3: Confirm the Connection
Your third and final step involves confirming you successfully installed Google Analytics so you’ll get up-to-date tracking information.
- First, sign in to your Google Analytics account. Then, click on the “Cog” icon labeled “Admin.”
- Select the website for which you want to verify the connection, and then click on the “Tracking Info” button.
- If properly installed, the status will appear as “Receiving Data” or “Waiting for Data.” If it’s incorrectly installed, you’ll see a status of “Not Verified” or “Tracking Not Installed.”
When you check this connection, remember that it can take up to 24 hours to receive data through Google Analytics.
