Job Overview:

Our ER nurses provide critical, and sometimes life-saving, medical care in stressful situations. Nurses are responsible for performing initial patient assessments, facilitating lab work, monitoring patient conditions, and completing administrative tasks, and they must be ready to respond to potential emergencies at all times. Given the working environment of an emergency room, nurses need to be competent in their skills, collaborate well with other providers, and respond quickly when patients have critical medical issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing all patients in the emergency room with a high level of medical care
  • Collaborating with doctors and other nurses to provide needed medical care
  • Helping check patients in and completing insurance paperwork
  • Monitoring patients’ vital signs and overall condition
  • Answering patients’ and caregivers’ medical questions
  • Communicating with laboratory personnel and relaying test results to doctors
  • Making appropriate arrangements when patients are admitted to the hospital
  • Responding appropriately during medical emergencies

Necessary Skills & Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in nursing
  • A current registered nurse license

  • Good physical condition, and the ability to work 12-hour shifts

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course certification
  • 4+ years of experience providing direct patient care as a nurse
  • 1+ years of experience in ERs, ORs, ICUs, etc.
  • Weekend and/or night availability
