MYCORPORATION VS. INCORPORATE.COM

Which Is Better for LLC Formation?

Looking for the best service to start your LLC? We used MyCorporation and Incorporate.com to form LLCs, then compared their features.

In this MyCorporation vs. Incorporate.com review, we’ll let you know if either is worth your time and money. We also recommend checking out our list of the top 5 LLC formation services.

Recommended Step Before Using MyCorporation or Incorporate

It’s important to name your business before going through the LLC formation process with a service provider. TRUiC’s Free LLC Name Generator will help you to do the following:

  • Discover the perfect business name for your company.
  • Conduct a business name search to make sure your desired name is available in your state and not already taken.
  • Help verify the availability and secure a domain name for your LLC.

KEY CONSIDERATIONS: MYCORPORATION VS. INCORPORATE.COM

When we started researching MyCorporation and Incorporate.com, we focused on three main questions:

  • Is it a good deal?
  • Is there a better deal?
  • Who uses this service and how was their experience?

Answering these questions will boost your confidence so you can choose the best service to get your business up and running.

Which One is the Best Deal?

Incorporate.com offers objectively lower package prices than MyCorporation. However, the best deal between the two will depend on what your business prioritizes most.

MyCorporation offers registered agent service and is easier to use. Their formation process is coherent, and higher tiers can benefit from additional annual report filing services and a year of registered agent services. However, while they offer nice-to-have features such as custom logo design and free domain names, they do not offer essential features like EIN registration and operating agreements as part of their packages.

Incorporate.com provides lower package prices and important included features. Unlike MyCorporation, they offer a variety of additional services as part of their higher packages including EIN registration, operating agreements, and business license research. But the lack of registered agent service and $235 required registered agent fee for higher packages may be too steep for businesses looking for the lowest price.

Who Uses Each Service and What Was Their Experience?

Incorporate.com
On their website, Incorporate.com has overwhelmingly positive verified reviews. Elsewhere online, their reviews get more mixed. Satisfied customers enjoyed a fast formation process and a good customer support system, while others were quick to note the hidden fees.

“I chose incorporate.com because it was a fast and easy way to protect myself and my business. Making the decision to become an LLC was the turning point in the legitimacy and profitability of my company. Incorporate.com sends me reminder emails when payments are due so it is easy to remain in good standing with the state.”

“Avoid this company at all cost [sic]. They automatically opt you in to registered agent services (without a way to opt out) then will bill you for yearly services. When you don't pay, they send to [sic] a collection agency and it will mess up your credit.”

MyCorporation
Existing reviews of MyCorporation trend toward the positive side. Again, customers were happy with the customer service they received and the speed of their formation process, but lamented the lack of included features.

“I recently called Mycorporation [sic] for my LLC set up. I worked with Scott and he was super helpful and patient with all my questions. The turn around [sic] time of getting all my required documents was quick and simple. Definitely recommend them for any business needs!”

“They did what they said and when they said they would do it. Professional services. The only thing I didn't like is the pricing adds up so quickly to include additional services. Overall good service. Thanks”

Is There a Better Deal Out There?

Incorporate.com and MyCorporation clearly have their merits, but other formation services on the market provide a more complete package for less money. ZenBusiness, our top choice, has a basic LLC formation package for only $39 (plus state fees). This includes a year of registered agent service, operating agreements, and web domain services.

Takeaway

MyCorporation’s formation services are averagely priced on the market. They provide basic features at each of their four tiers and have a solid customer service base. The inclusion of registered agent service on their top two tiers is also a standout when comparing the two companies.

Incorporate.com is cheaper than MyCorporation, gives customers important features in their higher tiers, and also has good customer support. However, the hidden fees (such as registered agent service on the higher tiers) may make their services more expensive in the end.

RATING DETAILS: INCORPORATE.COM VS. MYCORPORATION

This section takes an in-depth look at Incorporate.com VS. MyCorporation in terms of:

  • Value
  • Customer service
  • Ease of use
  • Included features

Value

MyCorporation is on the more expensive side. Their package prices are more expensive than Incorporate.com and they do not add many additional features to their packages such as operating agreement creation or EIN registration. They also do not include registered agent service on the lower two package tiers. However, they do include a year of registered agent service on the top two tiers and have nice features such as offers for web domains, payroll, and website design.

Incorporate.com has lower base package prices than MyCorporation. Unlike MyCorporation, however, Incorporate.com does not include any registered agent service. While not necessarily a bad thing, most competitors include such a service for a duration of time with their formation packages. On top of that, customers that purchase the middle or top formation package must also pay for Incorporate.com’s $235 registered agent service in order to use their annual report service.

Customer Service

MyCorporation offers a handful of ways to stay in touch with their company. Their representatives can be reached by phone, email or live chat on their website. Many online user reviews have complimented the customer support’s advice and overall willingness to help them.

We have had a good experience with Incorporate.com. The representative that we interacted with was helpful, considerate, and did not try to sell us any additional features that we didn’t want. Like MyCorporation, they can be reached by phone, by email, or via live chat. Some customer reviews describe less satisfactory interactions with customer service, so your mileage may vary.

Ease of Use

Incorporate.com has a comprehensive layout, but can have confusing content. Some fees that are required in addition to the formation package price are not mentioned until the middle of the checkout process. For example, their registered agent service is required on the middle and high formation tiers, but this isn’t mentioned on the package comparison chart. Some customers mentioned the need to read through each service carefully.

MyCorporation makes its features’ pricing clear. Their website as a whole is straightforward, and they show their additional features once at the package comparison page and again during the checkout process. They even label the features as “recommended” or just as “nice to have.”

Included Features

MyCorporation offers very few additional services across its packages. They include nice-to-have offers for web domains and website design, but none of the packages include EIN registration or operating agreement assistance, and the top bottom tiers do not include registered agent service. However, the top two tiers do include a year of registered agent service and every package except the basic package includes annual report filing. The inclusion of MaintainMyBiz for business maintenance filings may also prove appealing to some businesses.

Incorporate.com provides some important features. Unlike MyCorporation, they offer EIN registration, operating agreements, and business license research on their higher tiers. That being said, they don’t include registered agent service despite the fact that it’s required for their annual report service in the middle and top tier packages.
