NORTHWEST VS. MYCORPORATION

Which Is Better for LLC Formation?

Looking for the best service to start your LLC? We used Northwest and MyCorporation to form LLCs, then compared their features.

In this Northwest VS. MyCorporation review, we’ll let you know if either is worth your time and money. We also recommend checking out our list of the top 5 LLC formation services.

KEY CONSIDERATIONS: NORTHWEST VS. MYCORPORATION

When we started researching Northwest and MyCorporation, we focused on three main questions:

  • Is it a good deal?
  • Is there a better deal?
  • Who uses this service and how was their experience?

Answering these questions will boost your confidence so you can choose the best service to get your business up and running.

Which One is the Best Deal?

MyCorporation and Northwest are both established companies with exceptional customer reviews.

However, Northwest offers more core features for less money. Their $39 formation plan includes a year of registered agent service and exceptional customer support.

MyCorporation offers nice-to-have features, but misses some important ones. Unlike many of its competitors, MyCorporation offers four tiers of formation service. The lower two tiers do not offer registered agent service, and none of the tiers include operating agreements or EIN registration. That being said, they do offer annual report services at their Standard tier, and all of their packages include offers for things like domain names, custom logo design, and payroll.

Who Uses Each Service and What Was Their Experience?

MyCorporation
The overall online feeling about MyCorporation trends positive. Their satisfied customers liked the easy formation process and customer service, but admitted that the cost added up fast.

“I recently called MyCorporation [sic] for my LLC set up. I worked with Scott and he was super helpful and patient with all my questions. The turn around [sic] time of getting all my required documents was quick and simple. Definitely recommend them for any business needs!”

“They did what they said and when they said they would do it. Professional services. The only thing I didn't like is the pricing adds up so quickly to include additional services. Overall good service. Thanks”

Northwest
Like MyCorporation, Northwest’s online reviews are mostly positive. Users liked the standout customer service and the speed of their formation services.

“I contacted several registered agents while doing research on LLC formation. Northwest's client support was the fastest and thoroughest in responding to all my emails and I felt that they were willing to answer all my questions before onboarding me, whereas a lot of other services promised to do it only after signup, which raised a lof [sic] of red flags. Very happy to have chosen to go with Northwest Registered Agent.”

“I LOVE working with Northwest Registered Agent. It's everything I needed. Their customer service is ON POINT. Look no further!”

Is There a Better Deal Out There?

While both services in this review are good, there are other services that cost less and give you just as much or more. For example, ZenBusiness starts its formation packages at $49 (plus state fees) and includes a year of registered agent services as well as web domain services.

Takeaway

While both Northwest and MyCorporation offer solid formation services, Northwest gives you more for your money. MyCorporation gives its users nice additives to their formation packages, but the addition of important services can make things costly.

RATING DETAILS: NORTHWEST VS. MYCORPORATION

This section takes an in-depth look at Northwest VS. MyCorporation, in terms of:

  • Value
  • Customer service
  • Ease of use
  • Included features

Value

MyCorporation is not the cheapest overall option. Their formation prices, while more expensive than Northwest’s, are also not the most expensive service on the market. Where the issue rises is the price per additional feature. MyCorporation adds things like offers for web domains and payroll services, but they don’t include registered agent service until their higher two tiers and do not include EIN registration or operating agreement services at all.

Northwest’s package price is affordable for basic LLC formation services. Their business incorporation service is $39 plus state fees, and offers expert customer support, premium registered agent services, and other features. For businesses looking for a one-off formation price, Northwest is a solid choice.

Customer Service

It’s easy to get a hold of MyCorporation’s customer service system. Their representatives can be reached by phone, email, and live chat during normal business hours. Online customer reviews are appreciative of MyCorporation’s customer service, saying that representatives are friendly and give good advice.

Top-notch customer service is Northwest’s biggest strength. The representative we spoke with for the formation process was like the online reviews praised: helpful, pleasant, and overall knowledgeable in the different services. A unique feature is that Northwest allows customers to request certain representatives every time they call, meaning that if you like a certain rep, you can work with them whenever you need help.

Ease of Use

MyCorporation makes their pricing information very clear. The package comparison lists every included feature per package as well as all of the additional features you can purchase. They list these additional features again in the checkout process and label them as “recommended” or “nice to have.”

Northwest’s website is straightforward, but navigation was strange at times. Northwest's content had an easy-to-understand layout and the checkout page was simple. Their online dashboard for customers is also helpful, as it organizes all of your LLC paperwork for you.

Included Features

MyCorporation gives customers nice-to-have features but misses some important ones. All of their packages include offers for things like web domains and logo designs, and every package except for the basic one includes annual report services. That being said, they only include registered agent service on the top highest tiers, and they do not include EIN registration or operating agreement services as part of any package.

Northwest’s $39 LLC formation package includes important additional features. While their plan isn't very robust, it at the very least includes a year of registered agent service.
