For beginners, this platform not only keeps things simple and direct but also provides ample tools to fully customize your website without the headache of learning to code.

Pricing

Wix offers three pricing strategies — the first is Website, the second is Business & eCommerce and the third is Enterprise, which is priced by the quote and is primarily for customers looking for a more full-service option. Though the ecommerce plans provide all of the functions of the equivalent tier for website building, the reverse does not hold true.

To build an online store with Wix, you can subscribe to one of the platform’s Business & eCommerce options. Once you’re a member, you will have the ability to add inventory, take payments, create customer accounts and have access to a wide variety of other ecommerce tools. You will also have the ability to accept payments via third-party sources, including PayPal.

Templates and Themes

There is no denying that Wix’s pre-made templates are beautiful — and there are hundreds to choose from, conveniently sorted by industry. Using the site’s editing tool, you can easily modify these templates using a wide range of features so they are fully consistent with your company’s image and branding.

It is important to note that your template choice is final in Wix — you may continue to modify it as necessary to meet your needs, but you cannot change templates once you have chosen one for your website. With that in mind, make your selection carefully.

Apps and Plugins

Wix offers hundreds of apps to choose from to attach to your website — including industry-best marketing and financial tools that can be integrated with your website to promote your brand and attract business. Other apps include social media buttons, forms, and more. Many of these are free, while others require a monthly subscription. Though not as wide an app library as some website-building platforms, Wix still offers many powerful tools to help small business owners grow their brands.

Generally speaking, Heroic is quite easy to use. One of the first things we noticed when testing out the software was how simple the editing suite was — the tradeoff here is that it comes with a rather limited number of features. For users looking to build a website quickly without too much hassle, this can be a benefit as every tool they need is readily available with the click of a button. 

Aside from occasional lag when building your website, Heroic gets high marks for ease of use. The platform promises the ability to create a website in just minutes, and — provided your needs are fairly straightforward — it delivers on this promise.

Pricing

Heroic offers a single pricing strategy, with three plans: Starter, Growth, and Scale. One thing that stands out when examining the site’s pricing strategy is that — aside from the number of websites you can create and the price point — there is no difference between each plan, with essentially all of the site’s features being included in the Starter plan.

Aside from the option to integrate your website with Stripe — which allows you to add a payment button to product pages — there are no notable ecommerce features available with Heroic and the platform does not offer an ecommerce plan. It’s important to remember that this site is intended to be a basic platform targeting service-based professionals. Retail businesses will undoubtedly wish to integrate their site with a third-party ecommerce platform like Shopify.

Templates and Themes

Heroic offers users a fairly wide range of templates. While none of these are extraordinary in their design or structure, they’re all decent templates and will get the job done if you’re looking to create a simple, straightforward business website. One downside for users looking for total customization is the noticeable lack of elements. If your goal is to create a website in minutes, this is a plus. If you’re looking to modify a template to be consistent with your branding, you may feel restricted with this platform.

Apps and Plugins

At the time this article is being written, Heroic does not feature any apps or plug-ins. There are, however, a few integrations available.
